JOB SUMMARY:  Assist in all aspects of pricing and managing the accident and health business including new product development and pricing, state filings, competitive analysis, experience management, rate actions, and other regulatory requirements. Uses necessary software (e.g. Excel, Word, Powerpoint, SQL, SAS, GGY Axis). 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:  Performs fundamental actuarial tasks of a mathematical and quantitative nature in support of product pricing, experience analysis, reserving, modeling or rate filings.   Compiles and categorizes data, documents factors and data sources used in computations. Calculates premiums or reserves for new or existing products. May perform research, experience studies or other statistical analyses. Will learn various actuarial concepts, techniques and procedures. Will continue to take actuarial exams and obtain accredited status.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelors Degree preferably in Actuarial Science, or Mathematics
  • Internship experience in the insurance industry preferred but not required
  • Successfully passed 2 or more Actuarial Exams or has earned the equivalent exam credits
  • Actively pursuing Actuarial designation
 
COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to work with others in a team environment
 
EDUCATION:  Bachelors Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or other related degrees
