JOB SUMMARY: Assist in managing accident and health business including strategic plan development, lapse/loss experience analysis, deep dive product line reviews, and claim reserve analysis. Uses necessary software (e.g. Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, SQL, Power BI, GGY Axis).
RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs fundamental actuarial tasks of a mathematical and quantitative nature in support of strategic plan development, experience analysis, modelling and claim reserve analysis. Compiles and categorizes data, documents factors and data sources used in computations. Calculates persistency and loss ratios for new and existing products. Perform research, experience studies, or other statistical analyses. Will learn various actuarial concepts, techniques, and procedures. Will continue to take actuarial exams and obtain accredited status.
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Actuarial Science, or Mathematics
- Internship/1+ years insurance industry experience preferred, but not required
- Successfully passed 2 or more Actuarial Exams
- Actively pursuing Actuarial designation
- Strong math aptitude and business sense
- Detail oriented and highly organized
- Ability to learn basic actuarial principles
- Ability to follow directions
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work with others in a team environment
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or other related degrees
